Workshop at university of buraimi on Professional Responsibilities of Consulting and Architectural Engineers As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance applied knowledge and bridge academic learning with professional practice, the University of Buraimi’s Student Affairs Department organized a specialized workshop titled “Professional Responsibilities of the Consulting and Architectural Engineer to Ensure Building Safety” presented by Eng. Salima Al Badiya, Lecturer in the Civil Engineering Department. The workshop targeted academic and administrative staff, as well as students from the Architecture program and related disciplines. It aimed to raise awareness about the key roles and responsibilities involved in safe construction practices, the stages of site visits during the construction process, various types of structural defects, and the causes of serious cracks in buildings. During the session, Eng. Salima also highlighted the Decennial Liability Law, issued under Royal Decree No.29/2013 which ensures the safety of buildings for a period of ten years.
