University of Buraimi Wins 2nd Place at the “Future Makers – October Urbanism” Hackathon

Esraa Mohammed Ali Al-Jabri, an Architectural Engineering student at the University of Buraimi, secured second place in the “Future Makers – October Urbanism” Hackathon held in Muscat, featuring top talents in architecture and engineering.

Esraa competed through her startup Emad, which develops sustainable and smart urban solutions that enhance public spaces using local materials, renewable energy, and climate-responsive design.

Her achievement complements her graduation project “Hamasah Boulevard: Reviving the Old Hamasah Market,” supervised by Ms. Sawsan Mohammed, which aims to transform a historic site into a cultural and tourism destination that reflects Omani identity and supports the local economy.
